  1. Ian, I suspect the Gummint would “exempt” itself from Cloud GST charges. One other thing is the cost of collecting this and the admin systems to be set up to enable it. I read some where that Customs would have to recruit thousands of extra staff. As a bit of a pedantic aside, isn’t GST charged at the point of purchase? Therefore if you purchase something from the USA and NZ wants to charge GST on it, doesn’t the tax belong to the USA?
